Wie bist du denn an das Update rangegangen, über die Updatefunktion von Windows?
Damit hatte ich auch Probleme, ich habe es dann über den Windows 10 Update Assisten gemacht und dann ging es.

Servus und auch von mir herzlich willkommen in der Therapiegruppe
Das 1803er gilt ja eher als Zicke, bei sowas hat sich in def Regel bewährt mit dem media Creation Tool ein ISO auf USB-Stick zu ziehen und dann von dem aus und im Laufenden Windowsbetrieb zu installieren. Wenn man die Option "Upgradeinstallation" oder "Neuinstallation mit beibehalten der Apps" auswählt (bitte nicht darauf festnageln wie die 100% korrekt heißen) sollte die Installation eigentlich mehr oder weniger ohne Datenverlust von statten gehen, Fotos, Musik, wichtige Daten sollte man immer vorher wegsichern.

Ich habs bis jetzt auch noch nicht geschafft, 1803 zu installieren. Immer nach dem zweiten Reboot gehts nicht weiter und die 1709 wird wieder hergestellt.
Im Moment lasse ich's dabei. Einige Funktionen wärem zwar auch für mich interessant, aber nach 7 Installationsversuchen, die sich teilweise bis zu 8 Stunden hinzogen, habe ich keine Lust mehr. Vielleicht in 1-2 Monaten ein neuer Versuch...

Bei mir läuft soweit alles rund, bis auf eine Kleinigkeit, hinter die ich noch nicht gekommen bin.
Ca. alle 3 bis 4 Tage kommt es mal vor, dass mein Monitor kurz dunkel wird und dann gleich wieder in den Normalbetrieb geht.
Irgendeine Macke muss ja immer sein.

Seit dem Update, will ein "Microsoft Video Adapter" einen neuen Teiber. Ich hab eine GraKa mit aktuellem Treiber und dieser "Adapter" war zuvor nicht.
Listigerweise kann ich auch meine mainboard-Treiber nicht mehr nachinstallieren, was zuvor immer ging, weil ja jetzt plötzlich die Win-version nicht unterstützt wird.. Nice...
Beim Installieren von Anwendungen soll ich dem Programm erlauben, sich zu installieren und soll es in einer Pop-up-Liste freigeben... Witzig, weil es ist ja nicht installiert und ergo nicht in der Liste und freigebbar
Das internet wurde grausamst langsam, Seitenabruf/Aufbau dauert unterschiedlich ewig, egal, ob mit Edge oder FF oder Chrome...
Und was nicht noch alles für Mist...
Ich bin aus dem Insider raus, weil von Build zu build wurde der PC "schlechter" in der Handhabe...
Wenn es nicht immer so zeitintensiv wäre (8h braucht mein Laptop locker auch, warum auch immer), hätte ich nochmal "back to the roots" neu installiert...

Da stimmt aber etwas gewaltig nicht, ich habe gestern mein Laptop neu aufgesetzt nachdem der letzte Build ständig grünen Bidschirm produziert hat.
Mit herunterladen der ISO auf den Stick und Installation von Windows vergingen ca. 45 min. bis 1 Std. Mein Laptop ist auch nicht mehr der neueste.

Abend, zusammen,
jetzt mische ich mich hier einfach 'mal mit ein.
Habe gestern zweimal vergeblich versucht, das April Update (Funktionsupdate) auf meinem HP Stream 7 Tablet zu installieren. Nach dem Download wird die Installation vorbereitet und Windows wartet auf den Neustart. Nach dem Neustart versucht Windows das Update zu installieren, bricht dann bei ca. 21% Fortschritt ab, Windows setzt sich auf die letzte Version zurück.
Am Speicherplatz liegt es nicht. Habe ca. 8 GB internen Speicher frei, das Update ist ja etwas über 2 GB groß.
Was kann man tun?

Das kann aber durchaus trotzdem zu wenig sein. Nach dem herunterladen werden die Dateien extrahiert so dass durchaus 8 GB zu wenig sein könnten.
Wie groß das Update nach dem extrahieren ist kann ich natürlich nicht sagen, aber ich würde mal etwas mehr Speicherplatz schaffen und es nochmal versuchen.
Schaden kann es ja nicht.
Evtl. auch mal mit dem Windos10 Update Assisten versuchen, damit hat es mit anfänglichen Problemen auch bei mir geklappt.

Habe das auch so in Erinnerung, das am Acer W4 im Insiderprogramm immer gemault wurde, wenn unter 11GiB frei waren, es hatte sich dann so eingependelt, das ich ca. 12 frei hatte, vor dem Update und der Speicherplatz Freigabe / Analyse auch. Habe auch jedes Mal Anfälle bekommen, wenn ich bei den 32GiB Speicher wieder schauen muss, wo ich noch 500MB frei machen konnte, nur um nach dem Update soviel frei zu haben wie vor dem Update...
Ist aber wohl so, wie Lumianer sagt, die Insider Builds und ich nehme an die regulären Updates auch, haben zwar nur 2GiB und weniger, belegen aber anschließend in der Datenträgerverwaltung massig Speicher als "alte Windowsversion", " Installationsdateien", etc...

Hallo, zusammen,
melde mich nochmals kurz zu diesem Thema.
Nachdem ich neulich bemängelt hatte, dass ich die neueste Windows Version 1803 nicht auf das HP Stream 7 Tablet bekommen habe,
wird mir dieses sogenannte Funktionsupdate nun gar nicht mehr angeboten.
Die zweimalig fehlerhafte Installation wird mir im Update-Verlauf weiterhin bestätigt, dazu folgendes Bild:

Die Info des Tablets zeigt mir, dass es sich auf der Version 1709 befindet, hierzu folgendes Bild:

Die neue Update-Suche zeigt mir aber, dass mir die neueste Version 1803 gar nicht mehr angeboten wird, hierzu folgendes Bild:

Kann dieser neue Zustand damit zusammenhängen, dass Microsoft bei der Update-Vergabe nun künstliche Intelligenz einsetzt, und die Geräte ausschließt, die

gleich eingangs berichtet wird?
Im obigen Post #15 von Lumianer0802 verlinkt er zum Windows 10-Update-Assistenten, wo man sich eine ISO-Datei auf einen USB-Stick
speichern kann, um die Version 1803 doch noch ganz frisch auf dem HP Stream 7 installieren zu können, was ja aber bedeutet, das System
komplett neu aufzusetzen.
Das Ganze ist halt eine Zeitfrage von vielen Stunden, bis man den Rechner bis zur letzten App wieder so hinbekommen hat, wie er einst war.
Da stellt sich natürlich die Frage, ob sich das lohnt, um dann die neueste Version drauf zu haben, die möglicherweise sowieso nur Schwierigkeiten
macht, und deren offizielles Update für das HP Stream 7 von Microsoft offenbar aus bestimmten Gründen unterbunden wird.
Gibt es bereits so positive Erfahrungen mit der Version 1803 auf kleinen Atom-Tablets, dass man allem zum Trotz dennoch sagen kann:
"Muss man haben!"?

Sorry, mein Atom Tablet hat auf magische Art und Weise seinen Touchscreen eingebüßt und wurde ersetzt...
Der Aufwand mit der ISO und dem Beueinrichten ist natürlich schon da, aber sofern das HP einen seperaten Stromstecker hat, könntest Du das Upgrade per USB-Stick aus dem laufenden Betrieb starten, also direkt im Windows per Doppelklick und danach "beibehalten der Dateien und Apps" wählen, somit sollte eigentlich alles so bleiben wie gehabt, ausser dem Upgrade.
Wahlweise sollte das auch mit dem ISO auf der SD klappen, Windows 10 kann ja out of the box ISO Files "entpacken" und von dort aus das Setup starten...
Das habe ich aber selber noch nicht gemacht, daher ohne Gewähr...

Also einiges wird ja in deinem acc gespeichert, auch die apps und so,
Hab kürzlich ja meinen test PC neu aufgesetzt und beim einrichten wieder das selbe konto verwendet,
Alle apps und Einstellungen, die ich davor hatte und eben gesynct wurden, wurden danach von selber wieder übernommen und installiert.
